Abstract

298,971. Diel, J. May 18, 1928. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 19, 1928]. Door bodies.-A door, partition, &c. is constructed of an outer frame and flush stiffening vertical and horizontal members c, d, with halved joints formed by notching alternately on opposite sides, and with a tongue-and-groove connection with the outer frame. The outer frame members, and the bars c, d if necessary, are cut to the middle at right-angles to the grain, at intervals on alternate sides to assist in preventing warping. The bars c, d may be grooved at the joints and the cuts in the frame member are kept open to permit circulation of air, or holes i may be bored in the bars for that purpose. The edges of the door are covered with hardwood ledges which may be grooved for circulation of air, and the door is faced with wooden coverings e.
