Parachutes.-A parachute is expanded by compressed air from two steel bottles discharging into peripheral tubes on the cover after valves thereon have been opened by a rope attached to an aircraft. The parachute is normally packed in an envelope opened by the same rope which snaps after the valves have been actuated.
