[Class 4] In an arrangement for providing vertical flight comprising oppositely rotated propellers 10, 11 in a flared cylindrical casing 1 enclosing an annular concentric aerofoil 12, as described in Specification 405,539, a second annular concentric aerofoil 13, located between upper and lower deflectors 14, 15, is subjected to compressed air from a valve-controlled source 16 to provide a temporary additional lifting force.
