Casting-machines; metalpouring.-Casting-machines as in the parent Specification have moulds each comprising two or more longitudinal elements assembled by collars and separable heads and being centred in the rotary frame by members independent of said mould. The mould may comprise two segments 17, Figs. 1 and 4, perforated at 46, connected by bands 36 and provided with heads 38, 39. The socket end has an enlarged shell 44 also in halves and connected by a band 45 which is removed after casting to allow shrinkage. The mould is held in the casing 22 by bolts 26 forced inwards by inclines on sleeves 24 screwed on the casing and locked by a brass block 34 and screw 33. The ladle has cross members 58, 59 to arrest dross and a notch 56 in its pouring lip so that, as it is rotated, metal to supply the socket is delivered before the whole extent of the lip overflows. The ladle is supported by uprights 54, 55 this being pivoted at 60 so that it can be swung out of the way when the ladle and mould are being inserted or withdrawn. During this process the mould is supported by rollers 49 thereon resting on flanges carried by the casing 22. In other modifications, the mould may be rotatably supported by one or more of the bands 36 being secured in a ball mounted ring 141, Fig. 13, the mould being rotated by gearing 142 or by an axially movable end clamp. In another modification, the bands 36 are engaged in integral rings 153, Fig. 17, each supported on pairs of driven rolls 154.
