Abstract

296,209. McGillivray, J. Oct. 1, 1927. Coat and like hangers.-A coat hanger of the kind having a suspending hook formed with a U-shaped bend to accommodate the coat collar has the U-shaped portion 3 formed separately from the hook proper 2 and/or the shank portion 1 and connected thereto by loop or other flexible joints 10, 11. The bent portion 3 is also formed with wing parts 8, 9 to support the coat collar. In modifications the supports 8, 9 are formed integrally with the shank 1, or are secured to the yoke 5. The lower portion of the bend 3 preferably extends downwardly so as to be somewhat raised by the weight of the garment. In another modification, Fig. 5, the upper connecting loop 11 is formed with an auxiliary hook 23 by which the hook proper 2 may be held at an angle to the vertical. In another modification, -two such auxiliary hooks are provided.
