Abstract
294,849. Ramsey, J. H. Jan. 24, 1928. Fencing posts; wire fencing.-A resilient post for roadside fencing for minimizing damage to or by vehicles colliding therewith, comprises a pair of spaced supports 20, Fig. 1, connected by transverse bolts 22, 30 and pivoted to bosses 26 on a base plate 28 anchored to a foundation 60. Rearwardly extending lugs 46 supporting a swivel plate 48 co-operate with a spring 52 for resiliently holding the post vertically. Cables 12 may be loosely clipped at 14 to the arms of a member 16 pivoted at 18 to the support 20 and resiliently held in the position shown by springs 40, 44 which co-operate with a swivel plate 32. In a modification, Fig. 2, the member 16 may be omitted and the cables &c. secured directly to the supports 20.
