Abstract

294,338. Pochin, F. H., Pochin, H. S., and Gent, A. S. June 2, 1927. Boot-sole sewing-machines; welting and turnshoe. - A welt guide has a member automatically adjustable to the width of the welt to ensure the welt being correctly positioned. The frame 5 has an upturned front plate 23 secured to a projection 26. The welt W is carried between the parts 26 and 23 and is pushed against the end of the upturned plate 23 by a spring-pressed plunger 20 to bring the channel G into correct relation to the sewing needle whatever the width of the welt. A finger-piece 13 may be screwed to the rear of the plunger to facilitate insertion or withdrawal of the welt.
