Electromagnets.- The exciting-coil 10 . of a stationary electromagnet actuating a friction clutch is divided into layers with annular air spaces 12 between them and spaces 11 between them and the shell 9, which has lower and upper ports 13, 14 for natural, forced, or induced cooling - draught. The exterior of the revolving parts 2, 3 forms a smooth cylinder, whereby axial stress in the magnet shell 9 is avoided.
