Abstract

293,580. Butterworth, J. Aug. 3, 1927. Piston packing. - Packing-rings have their side faces ground or machined conical. Two rings A, B are placed in each packing-ring groove with their convex faces adjacent. The rings are flattened by insertion in the groove and exert axial pressure. The rings may be expanded by an inner split ring. Specification 8776/93 is referred to.
