Abstract

292,048. Huizinga, B. B. Jan. 31, 1928. Pulley-blocks.-A pulley-block is fitted with pairs of guide rollers mounted in the framing of the block so as to lie wholly outside the cylindrical surface of revolution containing the outer edge of the pulley, and of sufficient length to allow the rope to pass to or leave the pulley at any suitable angle. Fig. 1 shows a construction in which the rope passes round leading pulleys 15 to the pairs of long guide rollers 8 which are mounted on roller bearings and furnished with screwed grease cups 11. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, the one pair of rollers 8 is inclined and one of the leading pulleys 15 is omitted. In a further modification both pairs of rollers are inclined and both leading pulleys 15 omitted.
