Abstract

Ring and traveller frames; spindle apparatus; spindle rails; spindledriving apparatus.-In ring spinning and doubling frames having stationary ring rails and lifting spindle rails, two staggered rows of rings are arranged in the ring rails A and corresponding rows of spindles in the spindle rails B, which are connected by transverse carriage rails b upon which a carriage E carrying the tension device of the spindle-driving belts traverses during the movements of the spindle rails for building the cops. The gauge of the rings and spindles is 3¢ inches, thereby obviating the necessity of separators and allowing space for piecing. Each driving-band actuates four spindles, two on each side of the frame, and guide pulleys d are mounted between the spindles upon the spindle rail or on a bracket secured thereto to ensure adequate contact of the band with the wharls. The carriages E are connected by a rail F from which the weighted tension-pulley levers g are suspended, and, to insure a positive movement, are provided with a steel or like tape H connected to the frame and with a similar tape H<1> connected to a weight W or to the frame. An idler pulley g<1> is provided on the lever g to maintain the driving-tapes parallel, or the tension pulley may be flanged centrally for the same purpose.
