291,508. Perks, C., Shields, C. E., and Murray, T. G. March 1, 1927. Motors, mounting and gearing for.- An electric motor for operating a sunblind is housed within the blind roller. In the construction shown the blind roller a, carried by a rail s supported by hinged radius arms t, contains an electric motor b which rotates the roller a to operate the blind. The motor is mounted in a casing o supported at one end by a bracket q carried by the rail s. The motor rotates through the medium of a speed reduction gear c, comprising two worms e, l, and two worm wheels f, j, a small shaft, coaxial with the motor shaft, having a squared end k engaging the roller. The roller is rotatably mounted at one end on the casing o and at the other end in a bracket on the rail s. The other end of the roller may contain a torsion spring to counterbalance the weight of the blind during its operation.
