Abstract

290,547. Alford, P. C. Feb. 6, 1928. Clips, band.-A band clip for securing hosepipes &c. comprises a bent-metal U-piece b in the upstanding sides of which a slotted rotatable tightening member or bolt d is mounted, and a band a one end of which is bent double round the transverse portion of member b and the other end, after being passed round the pipe &c. is passed through the slot in bolt d. Bolt d is then rotated to tighten the band and is clamped in the tightened position by a nut f screwed on to one end of the bolt and bearing against member b. The transverse portion of member b may be flat, as shown, or curved to conform to the surface of the pipe. The bolt d, shown separate, Fig. 4, is slotted by a saw-cut e entering at the threaded end so that it may be passed laterally on to the band a.
