Gas cooking-stoves; air supply for combustion; outlets to chimneys; burners, mounting and attaching. - A gas cooking-stove comprises in combination a closed hot-plate 3, a burner plate 18 beneath it and forming with it a shallow unobstructed combustion chamber 19 with vents 9 for the gases, a plurality of multiple-jet burners 26 located below the plate 18 and removable independently of it and of each other, and groups of openings 35 arranged in the plate 18 above the burner jets so as to form with them ejector devices entraining the secondary air. In the construction shown the burner nozzles terminate below the lower ends of the openings 35, which are formed in shallow dished portions of the plate 18. The front and sides of the combustion chamber are closed by the upturned edges 21, 22 of the plate 18, the rear edge of which rests on a sheet-metal outlet chamber or pocket 12 extending across the back of the stove and formed with a series of vents 9 through which the gases pass to a flue extending upwardly behind the splash-plate 6. The sides of the combustion chamber may alternalively be formed by a marginal flange extending entirely around it, the burner plate being suspended from the flange. The mixing-tubes 29 of the burners are supported on the gas nozzles in the usual manner, the rear ends of each burner being detachably suspended from the plate 18 by means of a thin upstanding lug 38, Fig. 4. Side wings 40 on the lug are passed up through a rectangular opening 43 in the plate 18, the burner being then moved forwardly to cause the wings 40 to rest on shoulders 44 at the front of the opening. Wings 41 at a lower level than the wings 40 engage the underside of the burner plate, and the burner is secured in position by a cotter pin 45 passing through an ear 39 formed on the lug 38 and extending through a slot 42 in the plate 18. The outlet flue is constructed of two sheet-metal sections having curved marginal portions 53, Figs. 3, 8, bent inwardly and secured in contact with one another, thus forming an upwardly-tapering flue of nozzle-like form, the base of which covers all the vents 9. A modified form of flue with straight upwardly and inwardly inclined side walls is described.
