Operating doors by springs; checks.-In a door spring and check of the kind comprising a chamber e on the door and containing a liquid check and a closing spring operated by links c, d connected to a bracket on the door frame, the bracket end of the link d is hinged to a member g that is movable against spring pressure towards the hinged edge of the door as the door opens. The arrangement allows of the door being secured in an open position approximately parallel with the plane of the door frame. The member g is slidable in a tubular bracket f against the action of a compression spring h as the door is opened. It is guided by a rod secured to the ends of the bracket, the slot f<3> of which is normally covered by an extension g<4> of the part g<2> connected to the link d.
