Abstract

288,868. Nobbs, W. W. July 21, 1927. Electric radiators.-In heating rooms by means of elemente 11 housed in a casing 8 inserted in a wall, floor or ceiling 5 and closed by a plate 4 from which the heat is radiated, the elements are arranged in groups spaced apart from one another. Each group comprises two elements connected to a switch 13 so that they may be connected in series or parallel or one only may be energized. A separate switch may be provided for each group. Thermostatic control may be employed. The elements may comprise wire wound on bobbins enclosed between mica sheets 15 and clamped to the plate 4 by a pressure plate 16 and bolts 17. In a modification the casing 8 is lined with heat insulating material and the bobbins are carried by brackets bolted to the back of the casing. 'The plates 4 may be tall narrow plates conforming to the configuration of the windows may be made of copper or aluminium and may have an ornamental surface.
