Abstract

317,773. Widstr÷m, A. D. May 21, 1928. Electric ovens.-In an electric oven having a top element adapted to radiate downwardly and consisting of a heating winding mounted between solid dielectric and heat insulating material, the upper and lower metal plates of the heating element have low and high radiating capacities respectively. An oven is formed of iron or aluminium sheets and is surrounded by heat insulation 6, Fig. 1. The bottom element 3 is secured in a pocket and the top element 4 is supported on brackets 5 and comprises chromenickel ribbons 7, Fig. 2, wound upon a mica or micanite leaf 8, which is spaced from metal plate 10, 13 by a micanite sheet 9, and by micanite and asbestos sheets 11, 12. The plate 10 may be oxidized and the plate 13 coated with aluminium foil. Specifications 103,476 and 286,807 are referred to.
