Abstract

Discharging devices for endlesschain elevators. - In an endless chain elevator for raising and lowering trays means are provided to enable continuously driven but normally inoperative discharging mechanism to become operative when selected and to co-act with selected means provided on the trays whereby a tray or trays can be removed automatically from the elevator at any one of a series of different levels. The trays are removed by the ram head f<1> of a reciprocatable carriage F when it is moved towards the left by the protrusion of studs G, G<1> mounted on it into the path of continuously rotating arms D, D', Fig.2. The protrusion of the studs is caused by the engagement of a projection on the tray with a bell-crank lever M, the pendant arm of which is connected by a form m<2>, slidable rod N and bell-crank levers P, P<1> with the studs. The carriage is retracted by arms K mounted on a. shaft J which is rocked by the engagement of a cam E with a roller H on the arm h<1>. The cam E is mounted on the same shaft. as the arms D, D<1>. The studs may be actuated by a solenoid, the circuit of which is controlled by the depression of the catch lever M.
