Abstract
385,817. Testing eggs. GERHARD, A., 10, Kleine-Schwalbacherstrasse, and SCHMEIDL, J., 49, Dotzheimerstrasse, both in Wiesbaden, Germany. April 21, 1932, No. 11501. [Class 28 (ii).] Eggs are stored in rows on inclined shelves b and are viewed by a customer through the panel q. Any shelf, or a section thereof, may be pushed forward to positon the foremost eggs in the path of lifting fingers on a chain conveyer f operated by external means by the salesman. The eggs are lifted to a position above a testing-lamp p, the circuit of which is closed by contacts on the lifting-device. The shelf is pushed back by a cam-piece m. After testing, the lifting-fingers are tripped to roll the eggs on to a platform y easily accessible to the salesman. A mirror 5 is interconnected with a flap 6, so that, when the mirror is pulled out into the dotted line position, the flap 6 screens the eggs from external light, and the customer can view the eggs, during testing, in the mirror 5. The chain conveyer f is reversed to reposition the lifting device, the switch being so constructed that the light p is not switched on during the descent.
