Abstract
287,565. Akre, S. E. March 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Doctors for cylinders and rollers.-A scraper 2, Fig. 2, for cylinders and rollers in paper-making machines, calenders &c. is supported against an abutment 28 in a channel the side walls 20 of which are springy. The parts 20 may be carried by a beam or by a spring strip secured to a beam and one or both may be divided into tongues or, in another alternative, one of them is replaced by a series of spring strips. British Specification 176,896 and U.S.A. Specification 1594284 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the form shown in Fig. 2 (Cancelled) in which fingers are cut from the back of the scraper blades 2. In the form shown in Fig. 3 (Cancelled) fingers are cut from the front edge of a metal strip. In another form the blade 2 is connected to a plate 4 which is perforated by slits &c. which do not meet the jedges, and in a further modification a tongued plate is placed beside this apertured plate and the blade fitted between them. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
