Abstract

255,065. Martino, G. de. July 9, 1925, [Convention date]. Drawings to Specification. Cutting-apparatus.-In a machine for simultaneously embossing, cutting, and scoring large cardboard or paper sheets by means of an adapted cylinder printing-press in which embossing, scoring, and cutting devices are assembled in the forma and complementary elements are applied to the cylinder, the cylinder is covered with a plate of copper against which the cutting knives bear during the operation of the machine. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), 'box blanks may be formed by using cutting and scoring blades only. Also, in order to strip the sheets from the cutters, small pads of linen or spring plungers placed between the blades may be used, and gaps may be provided in the cutting edges so as to leave connecting parts which may be severed after the operation is completed. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
