Ironing machines with pressing action only.-The iron n is supported by a plunger-rod h, which is vertically reciprocated in a guide in a bracket c<1> by a lever g and crank i. The bracket is formed with two spaced sleeves c and a tightening band d engaging a standard b supported by the base a. Instead of the pin m and socket l connection shown, the iron may be formed with an inverted U-shaped member under which a claw on the plunger rod engages. The iron is provided with an inclined handle.
