Abstract

286,345. King, J. C. Dec. 14, 1926. Driving-gear of crank type.- As applied to a locomotive, the motor shalt C<9> is connected to the shaft N<2> of the driving wheels by means of an intermediate shaft M<2> connected to the shafts C<9> and N<2> by pairs of opposite cranks and connecting rods, the cranks L<8>, L<9> on the shaft M<2> driven from the motor shaft, being at right angles to the cranks M<3>, M<6>, which drive the shaft N<2>. The shaft M<2> is not in line with the shafts C<9> and N<2> so as to permit a direct connection between the shafts C<9> and N<2> by means of eccentrics L<1> and rod L<4>.
