Lifting-cradles.-A gripping device for moving, lifting, or revolving circular or other shaped objects such as fly-wheels of motor vehicles, shells for munitions, fronts of motor headlights, engine shafts, pipes &c. comprises a flexible steel &c. gripping band connected to one or more links having a tubular portion to receive an operating lever and attached to the gripping band in such manner that the direction of working the device may be reversed by rocking over the link or links without removing the device from the object. As shown the flexible band F, B is in two parts connected at each side to links T fitted with handles P.
