Abstract

285,883. Jacobovics, J., and Nassau, F., (trading as Rhein-Ruhr Maschinenvertrieb Dipl. Ing. Jacobovics & Nassau). Feb. 24, 1928. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts Feb. 25, 1928]. Sand-blast.-A sand-blast nozzle consists of an inner lining comprising one or more members a made of tungsten carbide or material of similar hardness and surrounded by a jacket b made of soft material such as lead, tombac, brass, soft iron, fibrous material, leather, rubber &c. If a metal jacket is employed, the metal is preferably of low melting-point so that the jacket may be replaced by a casting operation. The hose d may be connected to the jacket by a clamping-ring e. The lining may have a plane end surface at the entry end of the nozzle. Protective ribs c may be provided on the jacket, or an outer jacket of stronger material such as seamless tubing may be employed.
