Abstract

285,715. Light, G. H. June 29, 1927. Teeth, artificial. - A dental impression tray is formed of interconnected parts capable of simultaneous longitudinal and lateral relative adjustment by means of a single actuating member whilst in the mouth, so as to force the plastic impression mass into close contact with the gums and palate. The tray comprises a base 5 having pins 17 engaging cam slots 16 in brackets 13 carried by trough-shaped side members 8. The members 8 are connected centrally by a leaf spring 10, and adjustment is effected by a nut 21 turning freely in a member 22 secured to the spring 10, and engaging a threaded shank 19 projecting from the base 5. A preliminary impression is taken in the ordinary way and removal from the mouth, excess plastic material is removed, the impression replaced in the mouth and the nut 21 manipulated to contract the side members and force the plastic material into close contact with the gums and palate. The appliance is made of aluminium.
