855,148. 'Dental impression trays. SCHREINEMAKERS, J. March 10, 1959, No: 8191/59. Class 81(2) A dental impression tray for the lower jaw is so dimensioned that, during the taking of an impression, a uniform pressure is exerted on the bottom of the mouth. The tray is itself moulded from a natural mouth and is produced in a number of sizes, it having been found that these may be classified according to the distance between the retromolar pads. The impression for forming the tray is taken with the tongue protruded and the muscles tensed, so that free movement is allowed when the denture is made. From its approximate mid-point 5, at each side, on the lingual face, the edge sweeps upwards towards the front at 3, to clear the musculus. genio-glossus, while towards the rear it is curved upwards more gradually to pass over the sublingual gland.
