Spindle apparatus, - In an electrically-driven centrifugal spinning-box for spinning artificial silk the casing containing the motor is supported by two or more elastic members one of which acts in tension and the other in compression, the system having considerable lateral flexibility but being automatically self-adjusting in the vertical direction. In one form the casing a, Fig. 1, for the spindle o which carries the rotor k, is supported on an elastic casing b of caoutchouc or the like and a suitably stressed spring e having hemi-spherical end members f<1>, f<2>. An insulating ring g of asbestos is provided. In a modification, the support comprises a caoutchouc ring q and a caoutchouc block p having a rounded cap r, Fig. 2.
