Abstract

284,479. Coveney, A. W. Feb. 16, 1927. Shaking and jigging machines.-Concrete is corsolidated within moulds by placing them upon a truck furnished with wheels running on rails, the wheel axles being provided with cogged wheels, cams &c. to impart vibrating movement. As shown in Fig. 1, the moulds A<1> are supported upon a platform A furnished with pins a' engaging holes b in a carriage B which is provided with wheels e mounted on axles c furnished with wheels d having cogs d<1> adapted to engage rollers g in brackets f depending from the platform A. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the axles c carry snail cams h adapted to engage a rod i depending from the platform A. Fig. 6 shows a further modification in which the moulds are supported by a member k which is rocked by a bar m depending into the path of the cogs d<1> and maintained in engagement therewith by counterweights or springs. The cams &c. may be connected to the wheel axles through clutches &c. so as to be idle on the return movement. Lateral movement may be imparted to the moulds by side cogs. According to the Provisional Specification, the wheels or rails may be cogged.
