Abstract

283,673. Reads, Ltd., and Wagstaff, H. Nov. 2, 1926. Hollow-ware.-A metal drum &c. end 2 is fitted with a neck 3 for receiving a stopper, by flanging the edges of an aperture 1 in the drum end and fitting thereover a flange 3<a> of the neck, the joint being completed by double seaming the flanges as shown in Fig. 6. The neck may be recessed at the base to receive the double seam so that the bore of the neck is flush. The flanges may be " dimpled " before assembly, to prevent relative rotation between the neck and the drum. The neck may be plain, to receive a bung or may be screwed to receive a screw stopper.
