Abstract

219,610. Schwartz, M. Feb. 25, 1924. Bushes for bung-holes.-A container 1 such as a sheet steel oil barrel is formed with a round hole margined by a flange 2 and surrounded by a raised annular boss 3 hexagonal on its inner edge. A bush 4 stamped from sheet metal comprises a hexagonal flange 4<b> fitting the hexagonal socket formed by the boss 3 and a threaded portion 4<a> fitting the hole, the lower portion 4<d> being reduced in thickness and being adapted to be rolled around the edge of the flange 2. A paper sealing gasket 5 may be inserted in the position shown. A threaded stopper 6 is inserted to close the barrel.
