Abstract

283,447. Carr, R. D. Sept. 26, 1927. Cap-stoppers, screw. - Cork washers are secured in caps for collapsable tubes, scent sprays, &c. by providing in the head of the cap a projecting rim or ledge of metal which is adapted to be upset, forced inwardly or otherwise deformed, after the washer has been placed in position so as to engage over the edge of the washer to retain it in position. The washer is accommodated in a recess d of smaller diameter than the screw thread b of the cap and the edge of the metal around the recess is partly out into by a suitable tool g so as to force the inner edge f thereof over the edge of the washer.
