Abstract
282,590. Georg, O. May 30, 1927. Presses, mechanical.-Relates to friction screw presses of the type involving, staggered side discs which both work from the centre and comprises means for moving both discs axially. As shown, the disc 1 of the screw 2 is engaged for the descent by a disc 5 on a shaft 9 driving through gears 11, 12 the disc 10 for the ascent. Both discs are moved axially simultaneously through elbow levers 15, 16 by a link 17 operable by a hand lever 18 or automatically by a projection 21 on the ram 3 engaging stops 19, 20. In a modification, the disc shafts are operated through a pair of levers having a common central pivot.
