Abstract
282,483. James, H. V., and Stevens, A. H. Sept. 15, 1926. Controllers for alternating-current motors.-In alternating-current motor starters of the kind in which two or more contactors A, B, C are closed successively with time-intervals between them, the times are controlled by a dashpot 1 moving slowly under the action of a spring 4. The spring is strained by the closure of the first contactor A serving to complete the stator circuit. The movement of the dashpot successively closes contacts 14, 16 which energize contactors B, C for shortcircuiting resistance in the rotor circuit. In a modification two or more contactors are operated mechanically by one dashpot.
