Abstract

281,698. Schmid, A. Dec. 2, 1926, [Convention date]. Battery lamps. - A battery lamp with a liquid depolarizer comprises a container a forming one pole and made of a metal such as chrome.-mckel-st&el or lead-coated aluminium which is not attacked by the electrolyte. The upper end of the container a is lined with a closely fitting cylinder of carbon b which may be impregnated with paraffin, artificial resin &c. The container a is closed by a lid c which supports a zinc element f by means of a screwed rod g. The cell is activated by inverting the container. An electric lamp may be fitted to the cell as shown. The holder consists of a member i screwed to the rod g, the central contact of the lamp abutting at k<1> against a nut d screwing on to the container a. The lamp is enclosed in a protective cap o. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states that a valve operated from the exterior of the lamp may be provided to allow the lamp to rest horizontally without the electrolyte reaching the zinc electrode. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
