Abstract

Planes, arrangement of.-The upper planes of a biplane are connected to the body bv two pairs of centre struts 5, 5<1> pivoted to the upper planes and converging towards single plates 13, 13<1>, one on each side of the body. The top and bottom planes 1, 1<1>, 2, 2<1> are connected to the fuselage 6 by shoes 7, 8 and are braced together by four pairs of stamped sheet metal diagonal interplane struts 3, 4, 3', 4' pivotally connected to bracing plates 9, 10, 11 on the planes. The struts of each outer pair are braced by crossbracing wires 12. Struts 14 extend rearwardly between the bracing plates 11 on the upper planes and plates 15 on the body.
