Abstract
281,605. France, A. Dec. 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Inclined-trough washing-apparatus; upwardcurrent classifiers. - In apparatus for washing coal &c. in which the material is carried by a stream through a trough having slots for the elimination of the denser particles the line of the bottom of the trough between two successive slots varies in direction at several points, one or more sills of triangular section being placed between the slots, and at a substantial distance therefrom. The tops of the sills may be rounded. Several sills may be formed integrally as shown in Fig. 5. A sill may comprise a plate 19 hinged at 23 to the bottom of the trough and a plate 22 hinged to the plate 19 and supported in notches 21 whereby the slope of the plates may be varied. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also, a rounded sill 12, Fig. 11 (Cancelled), immediately upstream of the slot 13 and a smaller rounded sill 16<1> downstream of the slot. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
