Upward - current classifiers. - Oreclassifying apparatus comprises a tank having a series of hoppers e, Fig. 1, and slotted pipes g on the forward side of each hopper or series of hoppers, through each of which a thin sheet of water is projected at an angle in the horizontal ore-bearing current. Each sheet is controlled by a valve m or a slidable plate o, Fig. 6, and the ore-bearing current enters over an apron b having diverging-vanes c.
