Tell-tale apparatus. -A car position indicator for lifts consists of a casing 21 supporting a spindle 22 on which is mounted a transparent or an apertured dial marked around its periphery with the floor signs which as the disc is stepped round are brought opposite an index 28. The down- and up-travel magnets 29, 30 act upon armatures 33, 34 pivoted on a pin 35 and carrying at their upper ends stepping pawls 37, 38. When an impulse is sent to one of the magnets 29, 30, a pawl 37, 38 rotates the wheel 23 in one direction or the other, a full step being ensured by a roller 26 which is carried by a spring blade 27 and engages in the ratchet teeth. The armatures 33, 34, are returned by a spring 36. Specification 237,476 is referred to.
