Abstract

281,264. Maxey, R. E. L. Nov. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Sleepers, metal, and securing rails thereto.-Inverted T- shape sleepers 1 have rail seats attached to or integral with the web 3, the rails being secured between central abutments 8 and hookbolts 11 passing through lugs 9 on opposite sides of the abutments. With attached seats, Fig. 2, the lugs 9 and abutments 8 are formed on the seats 6. With integral seats, Fig. 4, the seat is of H-section, the top flange forming the rail seating and the bottom flange 18 being continuous with the sleeper flange 2, the central abutments 20 being combined into one abutment.
