Abstract

280,319. Debauche, H. Sept. 7, 1926. Drums.-In a winding-drum, e.g. for mining practice, of the type comprising a centre cylindrical part and two oppositely coned ends the usual spiral guide 1 on the conical part is continued past the junction with the conical part until it has made one complete turn so that the cable will pass on to the cylindrical part without jerking. Cross-sections of the guide at different points are shown in Figs. 2, 7 and 9, the last of which shows the point at which the inner wall of the guide terminates.
