280,120. Rees Roturbo Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Clark, C. B. May 27, 1927. Impeller blades. - A centrifugal pump for liquids containing solid material such as sewage, stones, rags or the like, has an impeller with two blades C having leading edges C<1> of bulbous formation thereby giving the blades a stream-line shape. The liquid passes from the inlet A, round each side of the blades C to the outlet F. A thread on the shaft H screws into the impeller hub, and the shaft passes through a bush I of rubber or vulcanized fibre and a stuffing box J. The shaft is supported in ball and roller bearings K, K<1> respectively. The discharge chamber E has renewable side plates G, G<1> and may be of the volute type.
