Abstract

Heating by electricity.- A metallic electrode for use in arc-welding in a protective atmosphere is provided with one or more holes, grooves or flats through which a gas or a liquid such as methanol is conducted. The electrode may be centrally bored or may consist of a core provided with a groove 3 or a flat and surrounded by a metal tube 5, flux being placed between the core and tube. The electrode mav also consist of a tube having a soldered welded or folded longitudinal seam which may be provided with flux. The electrode may be screwed into the nozzle 22 of a hand tool 10, the supply of gas being regulated by a valve 6 operated by an eccentric &c.
