Dynamo-electric machines and magnets; hoops and rings.-The field-magnet ring of a dynamoelectric machine is made by bending a steel slab 1, produced by the first rolling of an ingot of low carbon content e.g. 0.1 per cent to 0.2 per cent, between adjustable bending rolls 4, 5, cutting off the unbent ends of the slab, and then assembling the segments so produced to form completed rings. The interfaces of the segments may be machined, and lugs 10 and pedestals 11 may be welded on the ring segments. Specification 121.547 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of the above method to the production of ring- shaped structures generally. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
