Indexing.-The dividing-means of apparatus for cutting, notching, or punching plates, such as dynamo armature plates B, are formed of two or more facsimile sections G, G<1>, preferably obtained by forming the notches g, g<1> in them simultaneously while they are superposed. Circumferential adjustment of the sections G, G<1> on the pivoted frame A, to which the plates B are held by means such as tongues k engaging grooves b<1>, may be obtained by taper wedges D, E, screws, &c.
