Abstract

279,313. Chamberlain, W. Y. March 12,1927. Waterproofing structures; facing walls; struts. -Wood piles, columns, braces, wales, joists, walls, floors, and wood members of jetties, quays, and other structures are protected from decay by applying a sheath of cement or concrete over nails driven into the timber and over a reinforcement formed by winding or interlacing a length or lengths of wire round the nails. Figs. 1 and 2 show the application of the protecting sheath to a pile 1, the cement 2 being applied over nails 5 and wire reinforcement 6.
