278,592. Cuckow, A. E. E. March 26, 1927. Ornamental tiles.-Asbestos cement tiles as ordinarily manufactured are treated to provide them with a sand-faced surface to promote vegetation. A coloured or plain mixture of asbestos and cement is applied to the surface of the wetted tile and the finishing material, for example, sand, brick dust, kiln slag or kiln dust, dusted on while the mixture remains plastic. The cement mixture may be spread by means of a wire brush, thus leaving a streaked or serrated upper surface to receive the sand, &c.
