Abstract

Securing tiles to surfaces.-Tiles, such as opalescent glass tiles 2, are applied to a cement layer 1 upon a brick, stone, or other wall surface, and are jointed by means of extruded lead strip 3 of H- or T- section, such as is used for leaded lights. After the cement has set, the protruding part 4 of the lead strip may be removed by a sharp tool, leaving a slight groove between the tiles, which groove is then filled in with plaster, cement, or lead of a similar colour to normal cement. Ornamental tiling thus produced may be combined with ordinary tiling effected in the usual manner.
