Embossing-machines.-To facilitate the movement of a pressure-receiving platen 1, which is slidably mounted on an inclined base 2 below a presser member 20 so as to be adjustable for height, the platen is adapted to be raised on to supporting-rollers 27 arranged on pivoted arms 28 connected together by a rod 29, one arm 28 being linked to an operating lever.
