Abstract

277,250. B³ttler, E. April 25, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Vehicle lamps; lantern screens.-A vehicle lamp is provided with a flat or arched reflecting cap 4 having a covering shield 5 extending over the full width of a main parabolic reflector 1, the cap and shield being adapted to be depressed from the driver's seat to screen an electric lamp bulb 2 and to reflect light rays downwardly on to the lower portion of the reflector 1. The cap 4 is hinged to the reflector 1 by means of arms 3 and is depressed about a bearing pin 34 against the action of a return spring. A link 13 hingedly connects the cap 4 to a lever 12 mounted on a shaft 11 which is rotated by means of an arm 10 on a link 9 connected to the cores 39 of a pair of solenoids 7 secured to a framework 8. The lever 12 is provided with a cam 15 having a projection 40 which can be stopped by an armature 16 which is raised against the action of a spring 18 when a release-magnet 17 is energized. The bulb 2 has two separate filaments, for full and half light respectively, controlled by a rotaryswitch on a switch-board which also carries two press-switches for closing the circuits of the solenoids 7 and the release-magnet 17.
